Abstract
The Augustana College Social Committee was organized in 1937, replacing the former Board of Control of Social Activities. The group claimed to "ignore organizational frontiers, including all students in its plans." The committee planned numerous all-school social events throughout the school year, including Halloween and Christmas parties as well as a Spring picnic. This collection contains the group's meeting minutes from 1937 to 1948.

Erleen “Lindy” Lindeman transferred to Augustana College in 1941 after completing her first two years at Bethany College. She graduated in 1943 with a degree in English. Flavius J. Sten was born in St. Helens, Oregon. He attended the Augustana Academy for high school until 1911, when he entered Augustana College.
